Air Transport Association Notes Airfares* Return to 1999 Levels; Hopeful End to 'Lost Decade'
WASHINGTON, July 28 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Air Transport Association of America (ATA), the industry trade organization for the leading U.S. airlines, issued the following statement in response to today's release of the Department of Transportation (DOT) Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) First-Quarter 2010 report on airfares:

If you think air fares have been rising, it’s not your imagination. Figures just released from the government, though a bit dated, show that airline prices in the first three months of this year rose nearly 5 percent from a year earlier. And that doesn’t include baggage fees and other extras.
